The Parish Nurse is Virginia Garrison. She is a registered nurse who is currently employed by St. Joseph's Hospital.
The Parish Nurse
· Educates in health and wellness by providing classes, literature, etc, that promote physical, spiritual and mental health
· Counsel in person about health concerns by discussing questions or needs. Home and hospital visits may be possible
· Acts as a liaison to established community resource services
· Trains and coordinates volunteers in health related needs
· Clarifier of the close relationship between spiritual and physical health by encouraging the healing ministry of the church
Availability
Virginia is available one day each week dividing her time between Tuesdays and Thursdays. Her hours are from 12-4, in room 7. Her scheduled days are in the church office.

The Parish Nurse Advocates Hollistic Health
· Physical and Mental Health - Educates and counsels in health related questions. Makes referrals to
community services.
· Spiritual Health - Encourages a healthy relationship with God. Encourages prayer, study or any other activity that feeds our spiritual health. We can maintain wholeness in the face of illness if we are honestly at peace with ourselves and with our God.
