Jeffery Gaustad, Pastor

Jeffery Gaustad is one of Trinity’s Pastors, serving with Pastor Jonette Blakney.  His major roles are worship leader (preaching and presiding), teacher (Bible study, faith practices, and catechism), pastoral mentor, guide, and care provider. He is on sabbatical from June 1 to August 31, 2019.

Of Trinity Pastor Jeff says:

I can’t imagine anywhere I’d rather be than at Trinity.  This is a church that “does church right”- not just in worship, but in living out Christ’s call to follow and to serve our neighbors- to be Gospel.

I came to Trinity at the beginning of 2012, drawn here by the loving Spirit that I saw alive in this community.  Trinity is a very unique assembly of personalities,  some of whom have been here for over eight decades, and others who are new to the faith, the church, and even to the world.

So, a little about me: I was born and raised in rural Minnesota (Henning).  I met my wife, Deb, on the first day of freshman orientation at Bemidji (MN) State College, fell immediately in love with her, we married, I joined the army (as a drummer) and was stationed in Virginia and Colorado, and then went on to finish college at Concordia College, Moorhead (MN) where I earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance.  Before, during, and after college I played in a country western band.  After college I worked in the convenience store industry and as a church choir director for six years, and then attended and graduated from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN.  I’ve served congregations in Kentucky, Indiana, and Washington.  My wife Deb and I are blessed with three children and their spouses who have given us five grandchildren (and three grand-puppies.)  I graduated (again) from Luther Seminary, earning a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Preaching degree.

Besides being a husband, father and grandfather, pastor and teacher, I love to cook (it’s one of the reasons Deb married me) and I love to travel.

I am a storyteller, and I love listening to other people’s stories- especially their “God stories” and I’d welcome the privilege of hearing yours.
